Community Involvement

Raymond James Bank is proud to be actively involved in the local community and reaching out to those in need by teaching financial education, mentoring students, and participating in other programs, organizations, and events.

 

ABA’s Teach Children to Save Program

The American Bankers Association (ABA) has created a program called Teach Children to Save to encourage bankers to increase savings education among children in their community. Raymond James Bank employees participate by teaching local school students the importance of saving money.

Bank on St. Pete

Bank on St. Pete is an innovative project that seeks to bring St. Petersburg’s unbanked households into the financial mainstream as a first step to financial independence, security, asset building, and wealth generation. Raymond James Bank employees serve on both the Bank Products & Policies Committee and the Financial Education & Community Outreach Committee. Raymond James Bank has provided financial assistance to help launch this worthwhile program.

Child’s Park YMCA

Raymond James Bank and Raymond James African Heritage Network employee group have coordinated a series of financial education courses using the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Money Smart Program for the Child’s Park YMCA in St. Petersburg, FL. Attendees will learn the benefits of sound financial practices and foster knowledge, security, and confidence when dealing with money.

Gibbs High School

Raymond James Bank has partnered with Gibbs High School’s Business Economics Technology Academy Program in St. Petersburg, FL to teach the FDIC Money Smart Classes for Young Adults. This partnership provides much needed financial education for students about to enter the work or college arena.

Northeast High School

Raymond James Bank employees mentor students from Northeast High School’s Academy of Finance Program. The program gives high school students an opportunity to learn about and prepare for college careers in business and finance. The students learn business skills, gain knowledge of money management, and practice real life workplace applications to prepare for the future.

Progress Energy’s Great American Teach-In

The Teach-In is an annual event that gives professions, trades people, parents, community members, and other students the opportunity to teach local students about careers, hobbies, and activities. Raymond James Bank employees participate by teaching local school students about banking.

Project Pro$per

Project Pro$per recognizes the difficulties facing a “stranger in a strange land.” Working cooperatively with agencies, schools, and other organizations serving the immigrant community, this organization provides innovative financial programs aimed at promoting successful economic and social integration for immigrants. Raymond James Bank employees have partnered with Project Pro$per to assist with their program services, which are Loans and Matched Savings and Financial Education.

Resurrection House

Raymond James Bank employees teach the FDIC’s Money Smart Financial Education Program and other financial classes at the Resurrection House in St. Petersburg, FL. The Resurrection House is a community, faith-based traditional housing and self-sufficiency program for motivated families that are homeless or at the risk of being homeless. Upon graduation from the Resurrection House, program participants have careers, permanent housing, and a hopeful future for their children and themselves. The Money Smart Program and other financial education courses provided by Raymond James Bank are an important component of Resurrection House’s educational process.
